Welcome to Women-CONNECT! A quarterly publication that will reflect the diversity and rich cultures of successful women all around us who will inspire and motivate us to live not only successfully but also significantly by making differences in the lives of each other. The mission of Women-CONNECT is to embrace, celebrate and share ideas and experiences by making connections and creating relationships with diverse women everywhere. The stories that you will read will be of remarkable women from different cultures and various walks of life, each with unique backgrounds and experiences. Each issue will have what we are calling "Living Out Loud," a regular department that highlights individual women and their talents and accomplishments. We can't wait to share with you the department entitled "Profilers," which examines the lives of diverse women in Central Pennsylvania. Their biographies will represent everyone from business owners to educators and so forth. In every issue the column "Empowerment Zone" will present personal and professional tips for creating a high self-esteem lifestyle, and the "Business & Financial Literacy" section will provide suggestions for building financial wealth and achieving success in business.

Since women make up approximately 70% of the caregivers in families nationwide, we will be providing helpful information and encouragement in the "Caregiving Matters department. It is the intent of Women-CONNECT to be an inclusive publication, so in every issue the male voice will be heard in "Consider This . . . ."

Now, we can not produce a magazine without a column on the "Body, Soul & Mind." It will contain information on matters relating to health and wellness, spirituality, and education. All women at some time or another need support, so we have also included a "Words of Encouragement" department, and since women need to grow both personally and professionally, and still make time for some rest and relaxation, there is the "Great Escapes" section with information on getaways and conferences centered around women and women's issues.

There is something wonderful happening across not just Central Pennsylvania but around the world as we begin to embrace the many cultures. I believe we all have something to offer, and when we begin to appreciate and value the differences in others, we enhance our own lives.

I hope to see you in Women-CONNECT! Remember that we can all grow as we learn and share our own experiences…and celebrate one another's successes!
